NEW BLITZ TEE TIMES

Going Back to Tee Times on 2/1/12

It has been decided by golf course management that the PMGA, starting on Wednesday, 1 February (next Week), the men’s Day Blitz will go back to tee times. Our block of times will be from 0830 to 1030. There will be a new signup sheet available with tee times so that you can sign up after your round on January 25th. The following guidelines will apply:

  • If you want to play before 0830 and play in the blitz, you can fill out the blitz envelope, put your money inside and put it in the PMGA mail slot.  It will be necessary, however, for you to make your tee time with the pro shop;
  • If you want to play after 1030 and participate in the blitz you can fill out the envelope, put your money inside and place it in the PMGA mail slot.  You will need to finish prior to the Blitz Coordinator leaving for the day.  Be aware that if there are tee times still open for Men’s Day ahead of 1030, the pro shop may very well fill those slots with other than PMGA members; i.e., men, women, children, etc.;
  • If you want your tee time within the PMGA’s block of tee times, it will be necessary for you to take the tee time that is closest to the time you desire to play. For example; if you want to play at 0900 and the tee time just before that is available, we would ask that you take the earlier tee time and fill in the tee sheet. This will keep the golf course from giving that tee time to golfers that are other than active duty service members. In other words, try to fill in an empty tee time on the sheet that is open as we go.  The only group that will have a reserved tee time is the Blitz Coordinator for that day;
  •  If you sign up for a tee time and cannot make that tee time, make sure you call and take yourself out of the group with which you signed up;
  •  If you are a single please put your name down and the starter will put you with a group. You will have to call the pro shop to determine what your tee time is;
  • What we are trying to eliminate is the gaps within our tee times so we keep the Men’s club playing as one group on Men’s day. The signup sheet will be picked up by the pro shop on the Monday prior to Men’s Day. If you want to sign up and play with the PMGA after Monday’s deadline, please call the pro shop and check for an available tee time,” we will make room for you”.

If any of our valued Club Members have any further questions on how to proceed with this format, please ask any of your PMGA board members and we will be glad to answer any question you may have.  We thank you for your continued support of the PMGA and the golf course. If you are in need of any further information behind the change, please direct your questions to the Director of Golf for Marine Memorial Golf Course (Jodie Clor) and he will answer any further questions you may have.
