The USGA Handicap System, Article 3-5, directs that each affiliated golf club adjust course handicaps for any competition between members playing from different tees.
The PMGA Executive Board, therefore, implemented the following procedures effective June 20, 2007:
- Unless otherwise specified in a tournament announcement, all PMGA tournaments will be from the white tees;
- Other PMGA competitions (such as the weekly Blitz) will be played from the tees of choice. Choice of tee must be indicated on the scorecard. Members will determine their Course Handicap for the tees played as usual. Then, they will adjust their Course Handicap before they begin play as follows:
- Men playing from the white tees will have no adjustment;
- Men playing from the blue tees will add two (2) handicap strokes;
- Men playing from the yellow tees will subtract two (2) handicap strokes;
- Ladies playing from the red tees will add two (2) handicap strokes;
- Ladies playing from the white tees will add six (6) handicap strokes.
