Andy called it quits on a 28-year military career when he retired 1 April 1989 as a Marine Lieutenant Colonel infantry officer. His second career was as Emergency Services Coordinator for the City of Dana Point, California and radiological emergency preparedness consultant. His third career was working in golf operations for a private company that owns and manages hotels and golf properties. He was appointed to the SCGA Rules and Competitions Committee in 2004 and continues to serve as a Rules Chairman. He welcomes assisting anyone with a question regarding the SCGA or The Rules of Golf. A PMGA member since 1984, he was the Senior Club Champion in 2009.
